Welcome to Ojo Bio! If you need anything or have any questions, please send me a whatsapp text message at +13104291515. Here are a few things to know:
THE HOUSE
1. You have a keychain with a key to your door, the front gate, the dock gate, and the kayak room on the dock. Please do not lose your keys. We charge $100 to replace the keys, because we have to get some of them made in Panama City or we have to put new locks on.
2. You are VERY SAFE here!! We leave our doors and windows open all night to let the air in.
3. We are off grid and use solar power. When the sun goes down, the batteries power the house. It is very important that you conserve electricity at night! Don’t leave lights on unless needed. Don’t charge electronics. Etc….
4. You can flush toilet paper ONLY down the toilet. Do NOT flush anything besides toilet paper. If you do and the pipe clogs, we charge $150.
5. Propane
6. Washer
7. Trash
THE CARIBBEAN SEA
1. If you are swimming or snorkeling, please note that there are sea urchins. Do NOT stand on the seafloor, and check the ladder before you go up or down. As you walk down the dock, the sea grass beds are on the right. The coral reef is on your left. Straight off the end of the dock is deep water for swimming. Please do NOT touch the coral!! And use reef safe sunscreen at all times.
2. There is a bag in your room with 2 sets of snorkel gear. Please clean it before you use it and after you use it with soap and water in the sink. Completely dry the gear before you put it back in the bag.
3. At certain times of the year there can be jellyfish. I recommend that you swim in leggings and a long sleeve rash guard. If you do get stung, do NOT touch the sting!! there is a bottle of vinegar in the kayak room. Pour just a little bit on the sting.
5. There is a bag in your room with 2 hammocks. Feel free to take them to the dock and hang them from the metal beams. Please fold and put the hammocks back into the bags after use. Do NOT leave them unsupervised at the dock!! You are welcome to sleep in the hammocks at night if you’d like! Much cooler at the dock!
6. There is a small table and chairs in the kayak room. Bring them out to use if you would like. Do NOT leave them unsupervised at the dock!!
THE JUNGLE
3. We see lots of monkeys and sloths most times of the year! Keep your eyes to the trees! If you hear something roaring around 5am, don’t be scared. It’s just the howler monkeys telling you the sun is on its way!
4. There are lots of little green and black poison dart frogs around in the gardens- especially after a rain. Look, but don’t touch!
